In case you were looking to get out of the house while the coronavirus pandemic sweeps the country, don't try going to an AMC Theatre. All theatres owned by the chain have been ordered to close, including AMC Indian River 24 in Vero Beach, the AMC Port St. Lucie 14 in Port St. Lucie, and the AMC Rosemary Square 12 in West Palm Beach.

In a social media post Tuesday morning, the AMC chain said: "In compliance with local, state, and federal #COVID19 directives, all #AMCTheatres locations are now closed for at least 6-12 weeks." Following up, the theater group stated: "We will continue to monitor this situation very closely and look forward to the day we can again delight moviegoers nationwide by reopening AMC movie theatres."
