Dierks Bentley Joins Maddie & Tae On New Ballad 'Lay Here With Me'

Maddie & Tae just released their new five-track EP, Everywhere I'm Goin' on Friday (October 18). The rising country music duo recruited fellow country music artist and former tour-mate, Dierks Bentley for the project.

Bentley is featured on the touching ballad, "Lay Here With Me," which was written by the duo's Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye alongside Dye's now fiancee, Josh Kerr and Dave Barnes. The song portrays a couple going through a rough patch on the verge of goodbye, longing for things to be the way they used to be.

"Lay here with me / Let down your guard / Let's take off our gloves / And quit making it so hard / 'Cause you don't wanna go / And I don't want you to leave / So why don't you stay, please / Lay here with me," they sing in the chorus.

Maddie & Tae shared their appreciation for Bentley in a post shared on Instagram earlier Friday morning (October 18). The caption reads, "he took us on our first tour. he treated us like family. he still does. This dude has always meant the world to us & there is absolutely no other person we would want our first album collab to be with. @dierksbentley thanks for gracing our tune with your talent." They added, "wrote this one 2 years ago with @joshkerrmusic & @davebarnesmusic & we are just so freakin happy it's finally out!!!!!"

The duo's new EP, Everywhere I'm Goin' serves as Part Two of their three-part full length album. The new project follows up their debut EP, One Heart To Another which featured fan-favorites like "Friends Don't" and "Die From A Broken Heart."

Maddie & Tae are currently on the road alongside Runaway June opening up for Carrie Underwood on her "Cry Pretty Tour 360" running through the end of October.
