Officer Surprises Boy With Halloween Costume After House Fire

After a fire destroyed a North Carolina family’s home recently, a kindhearted sheriff’s officer is helping the little boy who lived there have a “normal as possible” Halloween. Captain Tim Griffin of the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office felt awful for six-year-old Damon, who lost all his belongings in the blaze, even his new Batman Halloween costume.

So Griffin went to Walmart and bought a new costume for the kid and it was a big hit with Damon. He is delighted to still get to dress up as his favorite superhero now, thanks to the officer’s act of kindness.

“You see a lot of bad, and you get a chance to maybe put a little bit of good into a bad situation,” Griffin says. “It's nice to be able to do that once in a while.”
