Coca-Cola Adds New Flavor

If there’s anything we learned from the introduction of New Coke in the eighties is that Coca-Cola fans love their drink just the way it is. Well, they are about to get something new, and whether or not it will be a hit remains to be seen.

Starting February 25 th , Coca-Cola is introducing a new flavor, Orange Vanilla Coke and Orange Vanilla Coke Zero Sugar. The new drink will be sold in 12-ounce cans and 20-ounce bottles, and will also be available exclusively in Wendy’s fountain dispensers through the end of the March Madness basketball tournament. Once the NCCA games are over, it will be available in all soda dispensers.

So, will it be a hit? Well Coca-Cola think so, considering they did test out a bunch of flavors before deciding on Orange Vanilla, which actually was launched in Australia and Canada last summer. Flavors that didn’t make the cut include raspberry, lemon and ginger.

This is the first time in over a decade that Coca-Cola has introduced a new flavor. The last addition was Vanilla Coke and Vanilla Coke Zero in 2007. Before that Cherry Coke Zero was added in 2007, and regular Cherry Coke was added in 1985.
