While on the way home from a doctor’s appointment with their newborn, a car changed lanes on I-75 near Tampa, Florida and smashed into Thomas and Diana Windsor’s vehicle, according to Hillsborough County deputies. The couple and their 11-day-old baby girl, Azara, were victims of a hit-and-run that sent their car rolling right into a nearby pond.
Fortunately for the Windsor family, Aaron Allen and his sister Jolisa Jones were right behind them on the highway in their Ashley Furniture truck and they jumped into action. The car was upside down and the siblings managed to flip it onto its side, where Allen broke the windshield so the family of three could get out.
The good samaritans saved the Windsors and they call them their guardian angels. Allen ended up with 14 stitches from the windshield, but he insists it was worth it. “People are calling me a hero,” he says, “but honestly, it’s what anybody should’ve done.”
