My son Casey will be heartbroken to find out Kasey Kahne, his favorite driver, will retire from NASCAR at the end of this season. Kasey released this statement early this morning:
Kasey blasted on the scene in 2004 as a rookie taking over for a legend, Bill Elliott, in the Ray Evernham prepared #9 Dodge. He gained instant success, finishing second in his second race. He went on to drive for Hendrick Motorsports, but never captured the magic of his early years in the series.
I may have to get us a couple of tickets for his last ride in Homestead in November.
